Every working day I go my office with public vehicle. The shortage of fuel, low availability of vehicle has created too crowd of passengers in the vehicle. Anytime the helper shouts go back to accommodate more and more passengers and the passengers shout make another door in the back. Yes this is my daily struggle to reach office in time and also return to my room. But this is not the main issue for writing this blog.
I am involved in an NGO which has been working for needy children's education since last 20 years. Sometimes I feel that what is the definition of needy children since a huge numbers of children are scattered in the street taking the smell of gum, a huge number of children are pronouncing the name of different places to attract more passengers, a huge number of children are washing the plates, cups and dishes in hotel. And at the same time various I/NGOs are presenting their success stories with showing a huge number of beneficiaries who are children. I don't want to blame them that they are not doing anything but also something is lacking.
First of all we have to understand that most of the children who are scattered in the city as street children have entered the valley from different districts of Nepal. Thus our first effort must be focused and concentrated to control the rate of children's migration towards the city area. The next effort will be the proper management and proper care of the street children who are scattered and wondering in the city.
